Discover the Path of Buddha – From Enlightenment to Nirvana

Day 1: Arrival in Varanasi & Visit to Sarnath

Arrive at Varanasi Airport or Railway Station. Our team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After a short rest, visit Sarnath, where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon after enlightenment. Explore the Dhamek Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, and Dharmarajika Stupa. Visit the modern Buddha Temple and the grand 80-feet Buddha statue. You’ll also see the ruins of ancient monasteries and the famous Ashoka Pillar with its Lion Capital, India’s national emblem. Return to your hotel in Varanasi for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Varanasi to Bodhgaya – Land of Enlightenment

After breakfast, leave for Bodhgaya, where Prince Siddhartha became Lord Buddha after meditating under the Bodhi Tree. On arrival, check in to your hotel. In the evening, attend the peaceful prayer ceremony at the Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overnight stay in Bodhgaya.

Day 3: Bodhgaya – Rajgir – Nalanda – Patna

After breakfast, drive towards Patna, stopping at Rajgir and Nalanda on the way.

• In Rajgir, visit the Viswa Shanti Stupa built by Japanese Buddhists on Ratnagiri Hill. Reach it by a scenic chairlift ride. Explore Griddhakuta Hill, where Buddha delivered many teachings.

• In Nalanda, visit the ancient Nalanda University, once a great center of learning for students from across Asia.
  Continue to Patna, check into your hotel, and rest for the night.

Day 4: Patna – Vaishali – Kushinagar

After breakfast, take a short sightseeing tour in Patna. Visit:

• Golghar, a historic granary

• Gandhi Museum

• Patna Museum, full of ancient art and artifacts

• Har Mandir Takht, a Sikh shrine

• Jalan Museum, home to rare items like Napoleon’s bed
  After lunch, travel to Kushinagar, stopping at Vaishali, where Buddha announced his Mahaparinirvana. On reaching Kushinagar, check into your hotel and relax overnight.

Day 5: Kushinagar – Lumbini (Birthplace of Buddha)

In the morning, visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple, where Buddha took his last breath, and Rambhar Stupa, his cremation site. After this, drive to Lumbini in Nepal (180 km, 5 hrs), the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Visit the peaceful Mayadevi Temple, marking the exact place where Buddha was born. Enjoy the calm and sacred environment. Overnight stay in Lumbini.

Day 6: Lumbini – Kapilavastu – Sravasti

After breakfast, drive to Sravasti (225 km, approx. 5.5 hrs), stopping on the way at Kapilavastu, Buddha’s childhood home. Visit ancient ruins, stupas, and temples like the Japanese Temple. Later, reach Sravasti and check into your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 7: Sravasti to Varanasi – The Preaching Place

After breakfast, explore Sravasti, where Buddha spent 24 rainy seasons and gave many teachings. Visit the Jetavana Monastery, Sahet-Mahet ruins, Ananda Bodhi Tree, and Angulimal caves. See where miracles were performed and where monks gathered for wisdom. Later, drive back to Varanasi for the final overnight stay.

Day 8: Departure from Varanasi

After breakfast, check out from your hotel. We will drop you at the Varanasi Airport or Railway Station with a heart full of memories and blessings from your spiritual journey.
